Hand-Knotted Kazak Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Kazak wool rug. This small area rug is rendered in a rich, purposefully abrashed palette of rose, cranberry, sapphire, cerulean, and cornsilk. It features a semi-rectilinear design of rosettes, cruciform shapes, stylized foliates, and abstract conglomerations over a rose and cranberry field. Framing the field are compound borders including a primary border featuring two types of guls over a variegated sapphire ground. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at either end with charcoal wool warp fringe. It comes with a certificate of authenticity.
