A room-sized Persian rug. This curvilinear wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of cranberry, camel, pink, and azure. It features an elongated herati pattern of crisply rendered palmettes, flowers, lancet leaves, and vines over a camel-colored field. Framing the field are eight borders. These include a primary herati border over camel as well as two minor borders featuring meandering florals over cranberry and an outer guard border of cranberry. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with fine ivory wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.

Condition

- stitching at fringe ends could be a sign of repair; there is wear to pile; the rug could benefit from professional cleaning.
