Edward Byrne Oil Painting on Canvas "Elephants"
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas titled Elephants by British artist Edward Byrne (b. 1919). This work features a group of elephants, one of which walks toward the viewer and the others bathing in a puddle. The picturesque savanna recedes into the distance. The painting is signed to the lower right; it is presented in an ornate muted gold-tone frame with scrolling foliate molding. A stamp and a couple labels from W.T. Burger Co. are present to the verso, one of which provides a short bio of the artist.
Condition
- small black stain spot present to upper right area of canvas; some wear throughout frame including scratches, stains, and discoloration throughout.
