An oil painting on board landscape scene by Hungarian artist Kalman Mesterhazy (1857-1898). Depicted is a fiery autumn landscape scene deep in the forest. A shadowy figure emerges from the dense orange canopy across an ominous grey pool. Two large, central trees cut the composition through the middle. Signed to the lower right in paint. Presented without glass, with a velvet lining, housed in a pale gold-toned wood frame.
