An oil painting on canvas of a female nude by Spanish artist Manuel Gonzal (b. 1960). Portrayed with loose painterly brushstrokes, this work features a young nude woman reclining on a flowery bed of grass, with autumnal trees and overgrown foliage throughout the background. The painting is signed to the lower left; it is presented in an ornate gilt and gesso frame with elaborate foliate molding. A stamp and a couple labels from W.T. Burger Co. are present to the verso, one of which provides a short bio of the artist.
Condition
-backing paper cut off around canvas verso; wear throughout frame including scratches, discoloration, and stains throughout; red bole of frame revealed throughout.
