A hand-knotted Anatolian runner. This wool rug features a floral design in a palette of crimson, midnight blue, ivory and gray-lilac. It begins with five hexagonal pole medallions over a crimson field. The medallions, which are grounded either in ivory or gray-lilac over midnight blue, each features a floral spray pattern with a star and floret at the center. Framing the field is a primary border grounded in ivory, featuring a stylized flower-palmette-oak leaf meander pattern. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at top and bottom with short red kilim skirts and unbound, undyed wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
