A Louis XVI style hand-painted porcelain mantel clock. The gold-tone cast metal clock in the Neoclassical manner of the late 18th century, is surmounted by a ringed urn with flame form finial and porcelain body depicting a romantic landscape with a rural cottage by a lake, The arched case contains a round porcelain floral painted face with Arabic numerals and scrolled hands behind a round door and is crested with a spray of oak leaves. Below a porcelain panel depicts a courting couple in period dress is set in a lush fantasy landscape and is rendered in the style of Jean-Antoine Watteau. The panel is signed Louciui. Tapered painted porcelain columns with a similar rustic cottage scene with flame form metal mounts flank the case. The whole resting on a curved base with floral garlands, a lower trophy depicting a torch and quiver with arrows and terminating on paw feet.
