A hand-knotted Persian Sarouk area rug. This beautiful rug has a lobed medallion to the center on a navy field that is densely populated by a floral and foliate design in a palette of garnet, cinnamon, blue ochre, green, and salmon. The center field is accented with large corner spandrels of ochre, azure, garnet, blue, and green. The large main border is decorated with lotus flowers and palmettes in azure, salmon, navy, and green on a garnet colored field. The rug is edged with orange overcast yarn and has short, cream colored warp fringe. Unlabeled.
