Item Details
A handmade needlepoint runner. This rug features an Aubusson-style design in a palette of tan, pink, crimson, and terracotta. Including three-dimensional shading to achieve a natural effect, the rug depicts a grand window frame, with fine moulding and vining florals growing out of an urn at the windowsill. The vines frame a bouquet of flowers in a basket that appears to hang by a ribbon of water pouring from a lion’s head fountain at the top of the frame. Edges are serged. The rug has a fabric backing and is unlabeled.
