Item Details
A handmade needlepoint area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, gray, sage, shades of pink, tan, and shades of brown. It features an exuberant design of large-scale roses and peonies in bloom and in bud amid tan and sage foliage over a brown background. Framing the field is a wide border featuring diamond shapes in red, shaded to achieve an illusion of three dimensions. These motifs are interspersed with round sunburst floral shields in tan and brown. Edges are serged with protective burlap strips on the underside. The rug is unlabeled.
