An original abstract acrylic and pastel painting on unstretched canvas by contemporary American artist Robbie Kemper (Cincinnati, Ohio; born 1957), titled Red Oxide Black and Blue. The painting depicts red and blue squares outlined in aggressive strokes of black against a patchworked white and red background. Black pastel scribbles accent the piece. Artist signature is signed to the lower left, and the piece is signed and titled to the verso. Kemper studied art at the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning, and is currently a studio resident at the Pendleton Art Center in the historic district of Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, Ohio.
