1940s–1950s Lionel Construction Kit With Gilbert Erector Accessories
Item Details
A Lionel Construction Kit, produced circa the late 1940s. This metal building toy, similar in design to the A. C. Gilbert Erector system, comes in a wooden carrying case with a panel inside the lid marked ‘Lionel Construction Kit 565’. This case also includes two 1950s-era Gilbert Erector engines, two Erector instruction booklets and other Erector components. Some pieces are stored in repurposed tins marked ‘Ault & Wiborg’.
Condition
- general wear throughout consistent with age and use; sets not verified for completion; creasing and crumpling of booklets; Lionel Construction Kit Chart torn; wear and tear to case; “Erector Set” written in marker on side of case; all mechanical components untested.
