Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian runner. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, mauve, camel, cream, and shades of pink. It features a looping lattice pattern with lancet leaves forming ovals that overlie a secondary set of ovals and knots. The lattice rests on a camel-colored field, which is filled with crisply rendered flowers and foliage in pastel colors. Framing the field are two borders. The inner border features a flower-and-lattice pattern over cranberry, while the outer border features meandering florals in high-constract colors over cream. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with fine knotted wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
