1839 Sterling Silver Fish Server

Item Details

A sterling silver fish server produced in London, England in 1839. This fish server has a blade pierced with foliate designs, a gently curved stem, and a handle monogrammed ‘RJE’. The underside of the handle is stamped with the lion passant, the leopard head symbol, a Gothic D and a Queen Victoria duty mark, indicating it was produced in London in 1839. There is a maker’s mark where the first initial has worn away, but the following three are ‘HDC’. The total approximate weight of this server is 5.550 ozt.
