Pair of Vintage Color Photogravures of Children
Item Details
A pair of vintage photogravure reproductions of original paintings of children, circa 1920s. The first is a reproduction of an original painting by well listed German genre artist Simon Glücklich (1863 – 1943), titled Spring Song. It depicts a young girl sitting on a rustic bench and gazing towards a songbird perched on a tall tree branch. The second is a reproduction of a painting by an unknown artist titled The Young Mariner. The print depicts a young boy floating a small boat onto a flat body of water. Both pieces are presented behind glass in wide dark-stained wooden frames. Brass plaques are attached to the base of each with titles and the words ’Mother’s & Teacher’s Assn.’ Hanging wires are attached to the verso of each.
