1879 Hand-Pulled Lithograph from Vanity Fair "Sarah Bernhardt"

An original 1879 hand-pulled lithograph from the British magazine Vanity Fair (active 1868–1914), published by the British printing firm Vincent Brooks Day & Son. The print is titled Sarah Bernhardt and depicts the famed French actress reclining in a stunning yellow and black gown across a pile of large pillows. A facsimile of Bernhardt’s signature is printed in gray to the lower margin, and publishing information is printed to the margins. The print is matted in white and is presented behind glass in a wooden frame with cast embellishments, stripes of gold tone finish, and a hanging wire. Information about the piece is attached to the verso.
