Early 19th Century Sheffield Plate Covered Entree Dish

Item Details

An early 19th century Sheffield plate lidded entree dish. The silver plate serving piece features a rectangular bowl with flaring sides and a gadrooned rim that is presented with a shallow domed lid with a gadrooned cartouche and acanthus leaf handle. It is marked with a previous collection number under the rim, and no discernible maker’s mark was found.

Condition

- some minor surface wear with faint markings and minimal tarnishing.
