French Rococo Style Walnut Commode with Marble Top

A French Rococo style walnut commode with a marble top and lower shelf. The piece is fabulously detailed with a deeply scalloped frieze dripping with carved stalagtites and scrolled seashell to the center. The commode has a bombe form with molded curving sides embellished with carved bellflower swags and scrolled seashells, terminating in cabriole legs with foliate and scrolled carved feet. The marble top is a beautiful russet piece with subtle vein and patterning, designed with a curved front edge and rounded front corners. The back panel is molded in a curvilinear design with seashell accent.
