An etching and mezzotint by Richard Earlom (English 1743 – 1822) after a drawing by Claude Lorrain. It depicts women in classical dress dancing with a mythical ‘Green Man’ figure. The print is one of 200 that were published in two volumes titled Liber Veritatis. Or, A Collection of Two Hundred Prints, After the Original Designs of Claude le Lorrain, in the Collection of His Grace the Duke of Devonshire, Executed by Richard Earlom, in the Manner and Taste of the Drawings. This is print number 145. It is mounted under glass in a gilt wood frame with a linen panel and is fitted with a sawtooth hanger.
Condition
- slight age discoloration to the print; minor wear to frame finish; surface of glass lightly soiled.
