A set of French porcelain dishes with gastronomic themes. This lot of six plates features four different colorful depictions of French wines, breads, and cheeses. The illustrations which cover the wells of the dishes depict bottles and various wine glass styles placed behind a bistro table laden with goat cheeses and more. The banner above the illustrations is titled ‘Les grands mariages’ which literally translates as ‘big weddings’, and lists the wines and cheeses paired in the pictures. One dish marked ‘19’ to the base lists the cheeses ‘Comté, Emmenthal Francais, Epoisses Langres’ and the matching wines such as a ‘Rosé Cotes de Provence’ and a ‘Chateau Latour’. The other dishes are marked to the base ‘22’, ‘20’, ‘1’, ‘11’, and ‘17’.
