Carved Haitian Style Mask

Item Details

A carved wood Haitian style mask. This mask is painted with red and black finishes and features a long, thin face with a pointed chin and open eyes and mouth. The nose and forehead are painted red and a carved bird sits proudly atop, its tail feathers mixing with the representations of hair carved in the mask. There are no makers marks, and it has a wire loop to the top for hanging.

Condition

- crack found in bottom lip through chin; other minor scuffs and scratches to finish.
