Hand-Knotted Salor Bokhara Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Salor Bokhara area rug. This finely knotted wool rug is rendered in a palette of coral, gray, black, and ivory. It begins with five Salor turret guls vertically arranged over a coral-colored field, the guls latticed on either side by partial guls, which are interrupted by the first of some sixteen box borders framing the field. These borders contain geometric repeating patterns over ivory, coral, and black. Bracketing the box borders are a pair of diamond-lattice horizontal panels, one at the top of the rug, one at the bottom. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with very short kilim skirts and knotted ivory wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
