A hand colored engraving after a painting by William Tombleson (British 1795-1835) titled Garrick’s Villa at Hampton. Although the title refers to the home of the famous 18th century English actor, playwright and theater manager David Garrick, the print depicts a temple on the grounds of the estate beside the Thames river. The print has a wide decorative border and was published in 1834. It is mounted under glass with a French lined mat topped by a dark green mat in a wood frame with a silver gilt finish. The frame is wired for hanging.
Condition
- print is lightly foxed; slight age discoloration at the margins; sticker residue on the glass; faint abrasions and cracks to the frame finish.
