Nataraja Shiva Inspired Carved Sandalwood Figurine

An Indian inspired carved sandalwood figurine. This piece depicts the Hindu god Shiva as a dancer, or Nataraja, doing the Tandava dance. The figure is decorated with garlands of snakes and stand on a the back of a demon, which rests on a lotus-shaped base. There is an arch of fire behind the god and demon figures. There is a label to the underside.
