Antique Chinoiserie Slant-Front Desk

Item Details

An antique chinoiserie slant-front desk, circa late 19th to early 20th century. The walnut case features a hutch with a long upper shelf, and three smaller shelves to the left, with a painted Chinese style scene with metallic tone figures to the panel behind the shelves. There is a cabinet space to the right, with one interior shelf. The body features a slant front with carved circular discs to the exterior and a felted writing surface. There are several small shelves and envelope slots to the interior. Directly below is a lower drawer with hanging metal pulls and dovetail joints, and a lower cabinet space with doors at either side of the base. Each cabinet has one removable shelf.
