Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Area Rug
Item Details
A Persian Hamadan rug. This wool area rug is hand-knotted in an abrashed palette of very dark midnight blue, cranberry, and cream. It features an allover mina khani pattern of stylized flowers, leaves, and vines over a midnight blue field. Framing the field are six borders, including an unresolved almond blossom complex primary border grounded in cream. Flanking the primary border are two running water borders over cranberry as well as a sawtooth border and monochromatic minor borders. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short ivory cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
