A Henry Macbeth-Raeburn (British, 1860–1947) mezzotint etching on paper. The work depicts an elegant dark-haired lady dressed in a celadon Empire gown and gold satin cloak, leaning against a tall stone wall, petting an affectional spaniel standing on its back legs. The background is filled with a fully leafed tree, missing one branch, with a tall mullein plant to the foreground, growing in between cracks to the stone steps. The etching is pencil signed to the left margin, with FQC seal to the left. Displayed under glass in a light lined ecru mat and beaded gilded frame. Published in London September 1921 by Arthur Greatorex.
