An offset lithograph after an original oil painting by Salvador Dali titled The Sacrament of the Last Supper. This surrealist work by Salvador Dali (Spain, 1904 – 1989) was completed in 1955 and is considered one of his most important works. The figure of Jesus is partially transparent. This depiction of the Last Supper is meant to represent a symbolic presentation of the Eucharistic ritual. This print is presented behind double mats in a dimensional wooden frame with a hanging wire to the verso.
The original work is part of the National Gallery of Art collection. It was donated to the museum by benefactor Chester Dale, who considered Dali one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
