A Chinese Satsuma style painted ceramic egg. This freestanding work depicts a layered composition of women dressed in decorative kimonos, surrounded by foliate patterning reinforced with light blue, gold tone and white stippling throughout. The egg formation is perforated to the underside, and is placed on a stained, circular wood base featuring perforated spot patterning to the edges.

- slight wear to underside, especially to perforated center.
