A limited edition offset lithograph after an original 1884 pastel on paper by Edgar Degas (French, 1834-1917), now part of the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Titled La Famille Mante, this depicts a young girl, dressed for a ballet exam, waiting with her mother and sister in a hallway. Both sisters, Suzanne and Blanche, would later become corps de ballet members of the Paris Opéra Ballet. The print is signed in plate, and titled and attributed below. It is numbered 40 out of an edition of 60. It is mounted with a black mat with gold tone trim, under glass in a black frame that is wired for hanging.
