Item Details
A hand-knotted and embroidered Baluch tribal runner. This wool rug is woven in an abrashed palette of crimson, madder red, indigo, and brown with highlights in camel. It features an infinity pattern including three and a half prominent diamond medallions over an indigo field, the medallions enclosing smaller, nested diamond shapes. Framing the field are an embroidered narrow border in red and blue with camel edging and a primary border featuring an animal head and diamond pattern over red and crimson. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at top and bottom with long indigo kilim skirts featuring embroidered bands in red and camel. The skirts end with short, undyed camel-hair and wool warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
