A hand-knotted Anatolian runner. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, gold, gray, and cream. It begins with four diamond medallions interspersed with six Shirvan-style octagonal shields over a crimson field. Populating the field are stars and palmettes as well as the small shapes of animals, which surround each diamond medallion. The field is framed by a primary leaf and calyx border over cream. Selvedges are double overcast in blue and red, the rug finishing at either end with ivory cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.

- light fading, discoloration, minor thread wear; wear consistent with age and prior use; warp threads have broken through the underweave near the end of the rug in one area.
