Hand-Knotted Indo-Heriz Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Indo-Heriz runner. This wool rug is woven in a palette of indigo, gold, burgundy, ivory, and teal. It features a design that combines elements of Karaja and Heriz rugs, beginning with three Karaja-style medallions connected vertically by threaded pendants over an indigo field. Populating the field are stylized flowers, leaves, and vines. The field is framed by a stylized turtle border over ivory, with an outer guard border in teal. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with tan wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
