Item Details
A handwoven Turkish kilim runner. This wool rug features a geometric vase design woven in variegated yarns. It begins with six large, stylized vase-and-flowering-plant motifs over a field variegated in red, orange, and yellow. Sprinkled around the field are small stepped diamonds in groups of three and in different colors. The field is framed by four borders, including a crenelated dividing strip and a primary border of fused ashik Ersari guls arranged vertically over a cerulean and white ground. The palette is red, cerulean, cream, and burgundy. Selvedges are triple overcast, the rug finishing at either end with knotted gray wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
