Blake-Clarke Co. Sterling Silver "Serv-a-Smok" Cigarette Box for Franklin D. Roosevelt

A sterling silver ‘Serv-a-Smok’ cigarette dispenser box by Blake-Clarke Co., ca. 1928/29. To the interior of the lid is engraved, ‘Honorable Franklin D. Roosevelt, Governor of the State of New York,’ indicating that the piece once belonged to or was gifted to the then state Governor, FDR. To the top of the lid is an applied New York state seal. The interior of the box appears to be missing an insert of some sort for tobacco dispensing. Marked on the bottom as, ‘Sterling’ and ‘Blake-Clarke Co. Serv-a-Smok.’ The total approximate weight of this item is 27.76 ozt.

Condition

- silver needs to be polished; bottom left-front corner is dented; minor scratches throughout on the surface of the silver.
