Batik on Linen of a Sunflower

A monogrammed batik on linen of a sunflower by Taj. Within black delineations, the piece depicts a sunflower with large leaves contiguous to a quote by the renown Lebanese-American writer Kahlil Gibran (1883 – 1931) reading ‘You see but your shadow when you turn your back to the sun.’ Signed by the artist with the monogram ‘Taj’ to the lower left corner of the composition. Presented behind glass, beneath a double gray and yellow mat, housed in a wood frame with a distressed gilt and gray finish.
Condition
- glass would benefit from cleaning; minor stains to mat; minor wrinkles to linen; wear and dents to frame.
