A collection of Indian bronze and brass figurines that depict Hindu and Buddhist deities. Included is a depiction of Citipati, a pair of skeletal Buddhist protector figures dancing wildly on a lotus base; a bronze statue of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi seated in the royal ease pose on a lotus base; a figurine of the Hindu god Shiva-Nataraja engaged in his cosmic dance; and a statue of the Buddhist istadevata Vajrayogini in the form of Naropa’s Dakini standing on lotus base and surrounded by a flaming aureola. There is no visible signature to any of the pieces.
Condition
- Tarnishing as well as nicks and scratches throughout the collection.
