Collection of Ceramic Decor Including 1940s Nodder Pin Up Ashtray
Item Details
A collection of seven ceramic decor pieces. This includes two pink harp figurines featuring an Almak, a gilded healed shoe figurine made in Japan, a boot figurine with floral accents, a swing and tree figurine, and a small pink urn vase with gilded handle and flower decoration by Lefton China. Also included is a circa 1940s nodder pin up ash receiver, featuring a lounging woman figure. She has one hand arranged so that a hole in the torso holds a separate red fan with a long stem, which weights the fan to “nod” when pushed. Similarly, the legs are weighted to the base, so when they are inserted in a hole towards the base, the legs “nod” in her gold painted slippers. The pin-up girl is reclining on a white porcelain rectangular sofa with two cigarette rests and transferware images of flowers on each side. The sofa has a painted pink fringe to the base.
