Antique Waterbury Mantle Clock

Item Details

A Waterbury mantel clock. This wooden case mantle clock from the mid 19th century features the original enamel tin face with black roman numerals and floral decorations to each corner. Below the face is a mirror. The back of the clock has a label that reads ‘Waterbury Clock Company’, Waterbury, Conn. Also on the back is a sticker with a family name and the date 1822. Inside the clock is ‘A. Newsalt, Jeweler Fifth St. Dayton, O.’ sticker along with a stamp that reads ‘H. C. Ruff Jeweler, Dayton, O.’ On the inside of the mirror, some family names and a date of 1869 are written in pencil. The clock comes with a key but is untested.
