A hand-painted wooden sign for King’s Head. This sign is shaped with a frame featuring a slight arch that tapers into pointed corners. This contains wooden planks that are hand-painted with mirrored scroll and leaf motifs in a palette of yellow, orange and brown against a hunter green background, which surround the aforementioned name and the inscription ’Est’d 1717’. To the verso is strung rope for hanging.

Condition

- to fair; paint chipping from center of sign; wear to edges; could benefit from cleaning; corners of sign water damaged and chipped; verso contains white residue.
