Dean Meeker Signed Limited Edition Serigraph "Dinner Dubrovnik"

A signed limited edition serigraph titled Dinner Dubrovnik by well-listed American artist Dean Meeker (1920-2002), created in 1965. This work features an abstract, sketchy portrayal of a long dinner table filled with food, glasses and wine bottles. It is portrayed with splotchy layered colors and quick delineations. The serigraph is signed by hand in graphite to the lower right and titled to the lower left; as indicated to the lower center margin is comes from an edition of 50. The work is presented without glass under beige matting in a simple gold-tone frame. A descriptive label is present to the verso.

Primarily known as a printmaker, painter, and sculptor, Meeker studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University. He later taught at the University of Wisconsin and became known for his experimental printing techniques. Meeker’s work has been collected by several renowned art institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, among others.
