A pair of color engravings from magazines and newspapers. Includes a color engraving from Harper’s Weekly. This engraving titled Lawn Tennis at the Seventh Regiment Armory, is dated December 10, 1881 and depicts a group of men and women dressed in nineteenth-century style clothing in a large indoor setting playing tennis. Also includes a hand colored engraving from The Graphic titled The International Boat Race— The American Crew at Biffen’s Yard dated to Saturday, June 1, 1872. This handcolored lithograph depicts two men carrying a racing shell across a dock while a group of men observe. It is signed in plate to the lower right corner. The newspaper is titled at the top and the print is titled in the lower margin. Both engravings are presented in wood frames, matted, and under glass.

Condition

- to fair. Yellowing of both sheets. Dent at the top of one print with damage to frame. Water damage. Sticker residue on one.
