A 20th-century Chinese ink and watercolor painting on paper of a nihonzaru (Japanese macaque). A nihonzaru and it’s baby sit peacefully upon a hill beneath the shade of a small tree. The paper is adorned with an elaborate silk brocade with intricate swastika and circular symbol. Signed with a red seal by the artist to the lower right, yet unidentified. To the left of the painting is a calligraphic inscription and two more red seals. Presented under acrylic glass, housed in an etched black-toned wood frame.
