A gouache and watercolor painting on paper of a cityscape by listed artist Lucian Lupinski (1918 – 2002), created in 1951. The piece depicts a large watercourse sorrounded by foliage and urban architecture. The painting is signed by hand and dated ‘Lucian Lupinski/ Father’s Day/ 51’ to the lower right corner. Presented beneath a blue mat, under glass, housed in a wood frame with a green and yellow painted finish.
Raised in Ohio, Lucian Lupinski studied at Ohio State University, the Grand Central School of Art, the Art Students League in New York, and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. He was an artist-in-residence for The Saturday Evening Post. His murals can be found in the Toledo Cathedral, the Museum of Art and Industry in Chicago, and religious buildings in eastern U.S. states.
