A hand-knotted Pak-Persian area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of royal blue, crimson, camel, and cream. It features a curvilinear design beginning with medium-large scaled palmettes and lancet leaves in a modified herati pattern over a royal blue field. Framing the field are four borders including a major border grounded in crimson and filled with starburst rosettes bracketed by lancet leaves. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with fine, tea-colored wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
