A reproduction color photograph on paper. This work depicts the famous image of jockey Ron Turcotte atop the chestnut colt Secretariat, the 1973 Triple Crown winner, in the Kentucky Derby winner’s circle. The piece is accompanied with strands of horse mane hair with statistics and a quote by owner, Penny Chenery. The plaque asserts the strand of hair is Secretariat’s. It is unsigned and presented behind a black mat, under plexiglass in a gold tone wood frame with a wire to the verso ready for display.
