Vintage Hand-Enameled Chinese Pottery
Item Details
A set of vintage hand-enameled Chinese pottery. It includes two wall planters, one ginger jar, and one vase. The planters are painted with a vignette of young boys in a traditional garden eating pomegranates, peaches, and other greenery. The food stands as symbols of fertility and long life. Unmarked to the underside. The ginger jar is adorned with images of heroes engaged in battle. Each is dressed in clothing associated with Beijing opera. The lid is topped with the image of a youth carrying a wish-granting ruyi (‘as you wish’) scepter. Marked to the underside. A colorful phoenix and red flower adorns the vase, along with a Chinese poem. Yellow, pink, and blue lingzhi immortality mushrooms line the neck. Marked with a red Qianlong reign mark to the underside, however, they were produced in the 20th century.
