An oil painting on board of a nymph by an anonymous artist. This painting depicts the nude figure of a nymph wrapped in a sheer white cloth holding a small vessel above her head. She is shown floating over a body of water with a large rock formation in the background. A small landscape scene is visible to the lower left through an opening in the rock. The painting is unsigned and is presented in a gold tone wooden frame, under glass.
Condition
- Significant damage to surface of canvas. Possible repaired tears. Surface of painting has made contact with glass. Inpainting, water damage, craquelure throughout loss of paint. Frame abrasions. “106” written in pencil at top. Removed from frame for inspection and is currently detached. The work is oil on composite board attached to poster board and cardboard.
