Leon Dolice Pastel Drawing on Paper of New York City

Item Details

An abstracted pastel drawing on paper of New York City by Leon Dolice (1892-1960). In this piece, foggy blue and grey tones are punctuated by bright yellow and orange lights from floating ships in the distance, which are reflected by the calm water. The United Nations building is visible in the distance. This expressive piece is rendered in smooth, expressive marks. The work is signed in pencil to the lower right, and is presented under layered black and blue mats under glass in a wood frame, with a hanging wire to the verso.
