A 1950s Mattel Mickey Mouse Club Mousegetar and other cartoon memorabilia. This red plastic four-string guitar or ukulele, produced circa 1955 as a tie-in with the variety show The Mickey Mouse Club, features a large decal of Mickey Mouse’s face just below the neck, with the top of the guitar body in the iconic shape of Mickey’s ears. The head of the instrument is marked with a circular ‘Mattel, Inc. Toymakers’ logo and the body reads ‘Mousegetar’. Also included are two Mickey Mouse figurines, a Felix the Cat figurine, a Dick Tracy coffee mug and a Walt Disney’s Fantasia coffee mug.
Condition
- to fair; one guitar string missing; one string misaligned; significant wear to Mickey Mouse head decal, with ears mostly peeled off; general wear consistent with age and use.
